Realm (World)

World Structure

Realm (World) → Chunk → Block → Player

In Akkadia, Realm and World are used interchangeably. A Realm (World) represents a complete, independent world — a place players can enter, experience, change, and leave their mark.

A World with Its Own Rules

Each Realm (World) exists as an independent world. Different Realms do not directly merge or overlap, and each carries its own atmosphere, identity, and rules. Differences such as deserts, frozen lands, or infernal regions are not merely visual backdrops. They define how the world feels, behaves, and is experienced.

A Realm (World) is the largest conceptual unit in Akkadia— it defines which world you are in.

An Independent Space

A Realm (World) exists separately from other worlds. Each world maintains its own state and evolves independently over time through player participation.

When players enter a specific Realm (World), they become part of that world and directly contribute to the changes that occur within it.

A Place to Build and Leave Meaning

A Realm (World) is not just a space to move through. It is a place where players build structures, shape spaces, and create results that remain over time. Changes made within a Realm (World) become part of that world’s ongoing state and persist for future visitors to encounter.

Akkadia’s Realms are not temporary environments—they are worlds where meaning accumulates.

From Realm to Chunk

While a Realm (World) represents a complete world, not all of its space is available from the beginning. Each Realm (World) is composed of multiple Chunks, and the scope and expansion of a world are defined at the Chunk level. The next page explores how a Realm (World) is divided into Chunks and how those boundaries shape exploration and growth.
